Things to do to soothe your new Corona virus anxiety

My community and I sat down to paint to a Bob Ross Tutorial to distract ourselves and then put our heads together to come up with a helpful list for those who are experiencing high anxiety over the recent Corona Virus pandemic. Let me know if you think of some others in the comments below!

Good Mental Health Practices

  • Wash your hands!

  • Take media breaks

  • Read a relaxing book

  • Finding something you can control (i.e. washing dishes, moving your room around)

  • Walk outside in non-crowded areas

  • Journaling/writing down negative thoughts and then putting them away physically

  • Connecting with loved ones -Take personality quizzes with friends, play board games, DnD, etc.

  • Taking your frustration out through video games

  • Exercise however possible / Stretching/ Walking

  • Puzzles

Distractions

  • Wash your hands!!

  • Baking/cooking soothing food (try to keep it healthy, learn new recipes)

  • Drawing/Doodling

  • Purge/Donate unwanted items - (check out the Marie Kondo method as a start)

  • Watch favorite old TV Shows

  • Music

  • Dancing like a goofball

  • Pinterest/decorate an imaginary house

  • Clean out/organize your computer

Educational/Learn a Thing

  • Learn how to WASH YO HANDS!

  • Listen to a TED talk

  • Read about something you’ve never heard about before

  • Learn to meditate

  • Learn an instrument (even if poorly)

Positivity

Socializing

  • Wash hands together

  • Spend time in an online game

  • Do video conference

  • Watch a movie together on Netflix by starting at the same time while on phone/vidchat

  • Check out live streaming platforms for live entertainment (Mixer, Twitch, Caffeine)
