Another Sunday, another great chat,
I dove into the topic of narcissism after my husband bought me the book "Will I Ever Be Good Enough: Healing Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers" It hit me really close to home. But then I had to sit back and reconsider where I got my idea of Narcissism from. Was it more about what my mother used to say to me whenever I asked her for any basic need? Was it truly because I can't stop thinking about myself? It was time to dive into the topic and do some research.
Narcissism Personality Disorder (NPD) is a perfect example of a mental illness that comes with a lot of preconceived notions; with the word narcissism is used so broadly that has really just taken on the meaning of anything a person does that can be considered selfish. And of course, as always, it's way more nuanced as that. Check out the whole chat I had live on twitch about the topic and then let me know what you think in the comments.
